About
Rosie Alena is an artist, vocalist and songwriter who is renowned for music that is exploratory, tender, full of character and masterfully composed. London-born and Brit School Alum, Alena’s restless creativity has always been in constant practice. Her intimate lyricism and 6-piece band come together to explore every emotion, whether that be love, joy, disappointment, grief or freedom.

With her most recent EP, 2025’s Everyman, Rosie entered a new era of artistic clarity. The four-track collection ruminated on past lives and relationships; mourned the future versions of herself that would no longer be; and celebrated the new version of herself that was. In writing Everyman, Rosie navigated what she called “the most pivotal year of [her] life”, and embodied new levels of maturity in subject matter, writing and sound. With Everyman seeming to close out a chapter, what is to come sees the beginning of a new one. Her storytelling has been refreshed by both the new and the unknown, and it welcomes the liberation and experimentation those qualities bring.

Rosie’s creative reach extends beyond her own project, having landed in some of the most exciting rooms in contemporary music. Most recently, Alena contributed to the new records from My New Band Believe (Cameron Picton) and Tom Misch, and her live shows to date have included support tours with the likes of Olivia Dean, Indigo De Souza, Katy J Pearson and Alex Cameron.

Tracing absence
Trace it back to him
To her
To you
Met with a rumour at a party
You’re back again and going soon
There you go again In the blue of the night
Out of sight
Out of mind
But my mind’s making grand gestures

I guess this is it now
I live in a strange town now
I guess this is it now
I live in a strange town now

I went to the house of the rising sun
Perfect people
Perfect love
Perfect fun
But I couldn’t help but think about this costume for a simple man
Dressed in colourful clothing
Chain smoking
I see it all now

You’re sorry I feel this way
Some kinda power play
I didn’t ask to be muted
I didn’t speak to be erased

I guess I’ll see you on the billboards
I guess I’ll see you on the TV
I guess I’ll see you on the billboards
I guess I’ll see you on the TV
I guess I’ll see you on the billboards
I guess I’ll see you
I guess this is it now I live in a strange town now

Everyman

You've become my Everyman
I look for you in every man
You’ve become my everyman
I look for you in every man
I thought I saw you

He’s missing out on autumn down in San Francisco
Scott McKenzie on repeat
It scored the board at Heathrow
My sister she’s in Edinburgh
New life
New plan
New man

In this grief tainted mess
We radiate strength
Absent mind
Absent friends are they watching?

Ha ha aaah

You’ve become my Everyman
I look for you in every man
You’ve become my Everyman
I look for you in every man
I thought I saw you

Devoted to the orchestra and new romances
He went away
Not far he’d say
Come over it’s an easy plane
But Luxembourg have closed their borders
He’s missing out on day to day

In this grief
In this mess
We radiate strength
Absent mind
Absent friends are they watching?

Ha ha aaah

You’ve become my Everyman
I look for you in every man
You’ve become my everyman
I look for you in every man
I thought I saw you

Outside
Nearby
Oh no I thought I saw you

Outside
Nearby
Oh no
I thought I saw you

Loophole

Little do they know of Loophole liberation
In silent limbo
I should feel bad
I don’t feel bad
Obliged to walk the line
Attempting conversation
He’s looking down
He’s hard to read
Embarrassed by my fumbling

Perhaps he doesn’t mind it
Perhaps he’s scared to delve too deep
In case he can’t resurface
And he’s an older brother
And I’ve never felt younger

Burning with desire
Ferociously obsessive
The thrill of what’s not meant to be
I act upon my fantasy
I should feel bad I don’t feel bad

Perhaps he doesn’t mind it
Perhaps he’s scared to delve too deep
In case he can’t resurface
And he’s an older brother
And I’ve never felt younger

An affair manifested
Thriving in freedom
Holding the power
Living off attraction
He asked for my kiss and it was sweetly intended
Commanding the stage
In the morning he’s knitting
He said “I won’t stop knitting this scarf until your return”
I regret my resisting
Handy craft is the truest form of rock and roll

It’s taken its toll
This rock and roll
It’s taken its toll
At Loophole
Little do they know

Babies

You’re in season so I’ll let you grow
I’m wholeheartedly myself
With you I’m someone else

I’m still thinking of our babies
Our babies
Our babies
I’m still thinking of our babies
Our babies
Our babies

In pursuit of love
I look up wide with child’s eyes
A feline like tongue on your cheek on your lips
I’m regurgitating our simple pleasures
Pleading modestly without words
Save your glorious skin for mine
Your hands for mine
Your good mornings and goodbyes
We are only lovers now

You’re in season so I’ll let you grow
From committed conjoinment we detangle in soil

This new dawn is yet to follow through
I’m over you
I’m under you
And I’m still thinking of our babies
Our babies
Our babies

This new dawn is yet to follow through
I’m over you
I’m under you
And I’m still thinking of our babies
Our babies
Our babies

You’re in season so I’ll let you grow

Who Do I Call

I know I’m irrational
I’ve been told countless times before
But when these feelings are ingrained
I can’t help what I do
I can’t help what I say

Pixelated images
Leave only your skin tones
And although you try to understand
You don’t know what to do
You don’t know what to say

Oh so who do I call
Who do I call

The kettle’s finished boiling now
But you remain numb in your chair
And we just stare
And I wonder why we’re so unsatisfied

The steam clogs our eyes
My vision’s mistified
Making it hard to catch the daylight

I can’t help what I do
I can’t help what I say
Oh so who do I call
Who do I call

You don’t know what to do
You don’t know what to say
Oh so who do I call
Who do I call

Dream Song

Early morning sunrise
Lucid pictures evade her mind
Aimless walks in the afternoon
She is longing to be with you

Through the void of senseless thinking
Touch is abstract free of feeling

All the things she longs to be
You can give her vicariously
Sweet release she’s waiting for
Knowing soon she will be yours

She dreams until morning comes
She dreams until morning comes

Careful wishing (she sleeps so lightly)
Lullabye (ever so slightly)
Smooth transition
A view of paradise

Her vision’s a maze of blurs and colours

The Light

We came as ourselves
Dressed imperfectly
Encapsulated bliss
And with each breath we breathed
We weren’t scared of what might be

We saw the light outside our windows
We saw the light outside
We saw the light outside our windows
We saw the light outside

We’ll no longer subserve
To disillusioned ideals
Our lives we will preserve
Harmonious states of mind will hinder our declinе

We saw the light outside our windows
We saw the light outside
We saw the light outside our windows
We saw the light outside

We saw the light outside our windows
We saw the light outside
We saw the light outside

We saw the light outside our windows

God’s Garden

I expect you to be nice
I expect you to think twice
about the way you hold my heart
I’m asking you politely
I’m no longer compromising

Orbiting stars like satellites
Enter stage left and exit right
My saving grace to Eve’s delight
Temptation seeks another bite

God’s Garden in our hearts
Tend to every part
God’s Garden in our hearts
When talking about love
It’s us I’m thinking of
It’s us I’m thinking of

I expect you to be nice
I expect you to entice
with the shape of your embrace
Talk to me politely
I’m no longer compromising

Bless this matrimony
Au naturale
Naked flesh will serve you well
Apple red confetti
Honeymoon suite
Holy seeds are rooted deep

Cruel Lover

Intentions unsure and my face bare
I begin
I begin
I run to catch the train at Sydenham
Not quite sure why
My excursion is futile

I sense your figure through the frosted glass
My eyes are blind
I stay outside
I observe you but I don’t want you
How cruel this is
How cruel I am

Cruel Lover
Cruel Lover

And it’s getting so old
And I’m tired of pretending
And it’s getting so old
And I’m tired of pretending

Announcing my feelings so flippantly
I guess that I’m seeking
Needing something
I seem to have told everyone but you
How cruel this is
How cruel I am

Cruel Lover
Cruel Lover

Adore Me

Unnaturally
I’ll leave it how I think they’d like to view me
A fake coincidence
A purposeful accident
Unnaturally

I’ll present them with personality
Yes I’ll serve it with champagne
Prove that you care
Thank god you care
Unnaturally

I want you
I want them to adore me
I want you
I want them to adore me

Too late
The champagne is just so distracting
I guess I’ll glance at the aftermath
But please spare me of the occasion
Let it be known that I also know
Unnaturally

I want you
I want them to adore me
I want you
I want them to adore me

All I wanted to do was dance and let loose
Why won’t you take my photograph
Catch me off guard
I’m waiting for you
I’m waiting

I want them to adore me

Look at me
Adore me

Mixed Messages

Don’t look at me that way
I caught you passing through me
Passing through me that way
I like to stir
Perhaps a reminder of the truth behind you

Take a snapshot
Envelope it and send it to me
Feel my pain now
Develop it and post it to me
Your messages
Keep them coming at me

Cold face, warm cheeks
The tension is rising as I speak so dismally
Slumped on my knees
I look for a God
Though I don’t believe
I pray desperately

Take a snapshot
Envelope it and send it to me
Feel my pain now
Develop it and post it to me
Your messages
Keep them coming at me

I washed your clothes in the lake where I bathe
I sigh ashamed
Soaking our skin in cold water again
We take the blame
