About
             Rosie Alena is an artist, vocalist and songwriter who is renowned for music that is exploratory, tender, full of character and masterfully composed. London-born and Brit School Alum, Alena’s restless creativity has always been in constant practice. Her intimate lyricism and 6-piece band come together to explore every emotion, whether that be love, joy, disappointment, grief or freedom.

           With her most recent EP, 2025’s Everyman, Rosie entered a new era of artistic clarity. The four-track collection ruminated on past lives and relationships; mourned the future versions of herself that would no longer be; and celebrated the new version of herself that was. In writing Everyman, Rosie navigated what she called “the most pivotal year of [her] life”, and embodied new levels of maturity in subject matter, writing and sound. With Everyman seeming to close out a chapter, what is to come sees the beginning of a new one. Her storytelling has been refreshed by both the new and the unknown, and it welcomes the liberation and experimentation those qualities bring.

           Rosie’s creative reach extends beyond her own project, having landed in some of the most exciting rooms in contemporary music. Most recently, Alena contributed to the new records from My New Band Believe (Cameron Picton) and Tom Misch, and her live shows to date have included support tours with the likes of Olivia Dean, Indigo De Souza, Katy J Pearson and Alex Cameron.

‘Billboards’ on Guy Garvey’s Finest Hour, BBC Radio 6 Music, 6th April 2025

This is Rosie Alena and the final of the four tracks on her ‘Everyman’ EP. So I made a programme two weeks ago where I put a track from this excellent record. The EP is called the ‘Everyman’ EP as I say. And I’ve worked with Rosie. I went to the Everyman Cinema in Crystal Palace and as I walked out there she was stood at the bus stop. I said “that’s so weird, I programmed you on the radio this morning, and here you are outside the Everyman.” Anyway, this is called ‘Billboards’. And the whole EP is about her split from a significant partner and she says of this one: “it’s about hearing rumours at parties about the man she used to be with and quite literally seeing his work plastered onto billboards.” And she said “repeatedly bombarded by his name and presence, I felt deeply rejected and powerless in a situation I felt I had complete control over.” I think we’ve all been there sometime or another. Listen to Rosie’s voice on this. It somehow collapses into beautiful vibrato when she holds a note, right on the edge of breaking completely. I think this is awesome. Rosie Alena and ‘Billboards’.
