Rosie Alena is a singer-songwriter from London. Taking influence from Joni Mitchell and Angel Olsen to Tori Amos, Sufjan Stevens and Esperanza Spalding, Rosie played her first gig when she was just 14 at the 12 Bar Club in Soho and has been enchanting audiences with her eclectic compositions and goosebump-inducing vocal capabilities ever since. After producer Oli Barton-Wood (Porridge Radio, Nilufer Yanya) spotted her at a show in Peckham, they decamped to his studio to create Alena’s first full body of work.
The future's looking bright for the songstress, who released her debut mini album, Pixelated Images, on untitled (recs) last year – following on from releasing a series of well-received singles in 2021 that earned praise from the likes of BBC Introducing, SBSR fm, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, DIY and So Young Magazine.
Arising from this debut release, 2022 quickly became Alena’s busiest year yet: supporting Alex Cameron on his full European Tour in March-April playing 17 dates across Europe (NL, DE, CH, PL, FR, BE, IT, SE, DK, UK). Later joining his band for the rest of the UK leg and again playing two shows at Primavera Sound Barcelona. She then supported Indigo De Souza & Katy J Pearson on both their UK tours later on in the year. Festivals included Glastonbury, Aleste (Madeira), MIL (Lisbon) and How The Light Gets In. She also played festivals with folk supergroup Broadside Hacks, including Glastonbury and Latitude. Already in 2023, Alena has played a sold out headline show at the Windmill Brixton and supported Olivia Dean on her UK & EU tour dates.
Further successes include singing the theme tune for the Channel 4 sitcom series ‘Hullraisers’ alongside Olivia Dean & Blossom Caldarone written by Guy Garvey (Elbow) and singing backing vocals for Joesef on his hit song “It’s Been a Little Heavy Lately” and black midi’s “Diamond Stuff”.
Already back in the studio, Rosie Alena is in the process of recording her eagerly awaited second EP.
